The Owner's Day · a game about running a small business

One owner. Three plates. A proposal due at 5:00 pm.

You run Marlow Leather Co. Northline Stores, a chain of twelve shops, wants a wholesale proposal for 400 bags by 5:00 pm. Your inbox and your suppliers' invoices keep arriving while you write it.

  1. Inbox

Reply to customers and leads before they give up. Archive the junk. Forward invoices to accounts. A reply takes 12 to 16 minutes of your day.

  2. Invoices

Compare each invoice with its purchase order. Approve the ones that match. Hold anything that doesn't.

  3. Proposal

It only moves while you stay on it. Each time you come back, it takes a few minutes to get going again.

Play the day on your own, then replay the same day with two agents working alongside you. Each round lasts two minutes.

Plates wobble when you ignore them. Leave one too long and it drops: a lost lead, a late fee, a missed deadline.
